Felony warrant issued for Creighton's Maurice Watson
Creighton Bluejays senior guard Maurice Watson has had a felony warrant issued charging him with first-degree sexual assault, according to a report by ESPN.
What It Means:
Watson has been charged with having non-consensual sex with a woman in the bathroom of a nightclub on February 4. The senior's college basketball playing days were already over after he tore his ACL in mid-January. Creighton has suspended Watson and barred him from any team-related activities including attending senior night festivities on February 28.
Watson was leading the nation with 8.5 assists per game before his injury. The Bluejays were 18-1 with the senior and are 4-5 without him.
