NC State's Dennis Smith Jr. struggles in possibly his last college game
North Carolina State Wolfpack freshman guard Dennis Smith Jr. scored seven points on 3-for-12 shooting in Tuesday's loss to the Clemson Tigers in the ACC Tournament opening round.
Projected as a top-five pick in the upcoming NBA Draft and with the Wolfpack finishing the year 15-17, Smith is likely done playing college basketball. If it was his final NCAA game, his performance was less than memorable. The seven points were a season-low and were only the third time the freshman failed to reach double-digit points all year.
Despite the poor effort, Smith finished his college career with 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.7 three-pointers per game.
