Xavier's Edmond Sumner declares himself eligible for NBA Draft
Xavier Musketeers junior guard Edmond Sumner has announced his intention to enter the 2017 NBA Draft and hire an agent, ending his college career, according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.
What It Means:
Sumner was limited to just 21 games this season due to tearing his ACL in late January. Sumner is projected as a second-round pick at best and will likely not be able to improve his draft stock at the combine, due to his recovery. By hiring an agent, he is unable to return to college.
Sumner was Xavier's second-leading scorer with 15.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
