Dennis Smith Jr. will go pro, leaving NC State after one year
North Carolina State Wolfpack freshman guard Dennis Smith Jr. announced on ESPN that he is forgoing his college eligibility and is entering the 2017 NBA Draft.
Smith is projected to be a top-10 pick in the upcoming draft. The ACC Freshman of the Year, Smith was one of two Division I players to record two triple-doubles this past season. Despite his strong play, the Wolfpack finished 15-17.
Smith averaged 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.7 three-pointers per game.
