Malik Monk is leaving Kentucky for the NBA

Kentucky Wildcats freshman guard Malik Monk has entered the 2017 NBA Draft and will hire an agent, ending his college career, per UKAthletics.com.

What It Means:

Monk led the Wildcats to the Elite Eight and nearly a Final Four berth as the team's leading scorer. He will join fellow Wildcat and backcourt mate De'Aaron Fox in the pro ranks next season. Monk is currently projected to be a potential top-five selection in the NBA Draft.

Monk averaged 19.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.7 three-pointers per game while posting an 118.0 offensive rating and 5.7 win shares.
