North Carolina's Joel Berry wins NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player award
North Carolina Tar Heels junior guard Joel Berry was named the 2017 NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player on Monday.
Berry led his Tar Heels to the National Championship as he scored 22 points in a 71-65 win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The junior was hampered by an ankle injury throughout the tournament but managed to still play heavy minutes for North Carolina.
Berry averaged 13.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in 32.7 minutes per game during the Tar Heels' championship run.
