Week 16 NFL Advanced Analytics Superstars

Todd Gurley capped off the fantasy football season with yet another stellar performance. Who else stood out in Week 16?

Week 16 of the NFL season -- or Todd Gurley MVP Week as I like to call it -- featured plenty of outstanding performances as the fantasy season came to its conclusion for most leagues. Yet, as was indicative of this entire season, the running back position was by far the most effective based on our metrics, undoubtedly reclaiming its spot at the top of the fantasy heirarchy.

Each week, we'll take a look at offensive players at each position who helped put their team in the best position to win. However, we'll be going beyond just the box score by diving into the impact of each player on their team's success.

To do this, we'll utilize our signature metric, Net Expected Points (NEP), which quantifies the number of points a player adds to his team versus how he's expected to perform. When a player rushes for 5 yards on a 3rd-and-3 and keeps the drive -- and potential for scoring points -- alive, he'll add more to his team's expected point total than when a player rushes for 5 yards on a 3rd-and-9 and forces his team to punt.

So, who were Week 16's NEP superstars?
