Keenan Allen has long been a favored target of Philip Rivers with the Chargers, but are we seeing a shift in the tide with the emergence of youngster Mike Williams?

Part of Allen's appeal over the years has been Rivers' lack of a secondary target outside of the red-zone prowess of Antonio Gates. With Williams hauling in three touchdowns and posting at least 81 yards through three games, he's actually outscored Allen in the early going (only one touchdown and held under 70 yards in two of three games).

Beyond the newly-acquired attention Williams is getting, Allen is banged up for this matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. He was held out of practice on Thursday with knee and tooth issues, so his practice status for Friday is certainly something to watch. With the Chargers a sizable -10.5 home favorite and likely to control the flow of the game in the second half, Rivers will be likely handing off to Melvin Gordon rather than chucking it downfield to his receivers.

With the plethora of cheaper wide outs in great spots this week, Allen has too many question marks surrounding his health and his volume to trust in DFS this week.
