5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 4

We are a quarter of the way through the 2018 NFL season, and if the next three quarters can match the four weeks we’ve already had then we are in for some serious fireworks. Week 4 was another week filled with thrills and spills, just like the three weeks before.

We are down to the last two unbeaten teams, both of whom up until recently played their home games in the great state of Missouri. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 after their come from behind victory over the Denver Broncos on Monday night, while Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams took out the Minnesota Vikings in a Thursday night shootout. The Rams' NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals are the only team yet to win a game, after a last minute loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Week 4 had three overtime games, meaning that at least one game has needed an additional quarter of play in all four weeks to open the season. This hasn’t happened since 2002. Adam Vinatieri made his 566th and 567th career field goals, taking him out of a tie with Morten Andersen for the most in NFL history. Both Eli Manning and Philip Rivers also surpassed NFL legends on Sunday. Manning now has 343 touchdown passes, taking him past Fran Tarkenton for the seventh-most all time, while Rivers surpassed John Elway's 51,475 passing yards and moved into eighth place on the all-time list. Rivers now has 51,504 yards.
