The Packers are just .500 and have only outscored their opponents by a combined seven points this year, but there are indicators that suggest the best is yet to come for Green Bay.

In terms of moving the ball consistently and stopping opponents from doing the same, few teams have been better than the Packers this season. Green Bay came into Week 10 ranked ninth in Success Rate and 12th on defense, which had them at fifth in Success Rate margin (+3.6%).

They followed this up by posting the fourth-best net Success Rate in Week 10 (+8.9%) in a 31-12 victory over Miami. Overall, the Packers are +0.6 in yards per play margin and fourth in the league in total yardage differential (+516). This has not translated into a wider scoring margin due to under-performance in critical areas of the field though.

Green Bay is just 16th in third-down conversion rate (39.5%) and has struggled in the red zone to boot. The Packers came into the week ranked 18th in points per red zone trip and 20th in touchdowns per trip inside the 20, according to Football Outsiders.

These areas are critical to a team’s success but can be somewhat inconsistent in small samples; given Green Bay’s overall offensive performance and track record of success with Aaron Rodgers, we should probably expect improvement here.
