New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Over/Under: 54.5

Saints Implied Team Total: 31.00
Eagles Implied Team Total: 23.50

If you've been following along throughout the season, then perhaps you've noticed a trend. The Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints are weekly staples as the rising tides that raise all ships. Firing on all cylinders, the Saints are putting together a historic offensive campaign, and more importantly for our purposes, New Orleans' game totals are, on average, the highest of any team. With the Chiefs and Rams playing Monday night, it leaves just the Saints -- playing host to the Philadelphia Eaglesto work with on the main slate.

Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
FanDuel Price: $7,700

Carson Wentz is the QB8 since Week 4, despite matchups against Tennessee Titans, Minnesota and Jacksonville along the way. Now he gets to face a Saints defense that has been the friendliest matchup to quarterbacks this season in a game with the highest game total on the main slate. Wentz has yet to display a 30-point ceiling this season, but he also hasn't been dragged into a Saints-level shootout. As noted above, no games score more offensive points than those the Saints play due to the lethal combination of an explosive offense and porous secondary. New Orleans has allowed the 12th-most rushing yards to quarterbacks and a league-worst 4 rushing touchdowns to the position. Having scored 20-plus FanDuel points in five of his last six, Wentz is an easy cash play with tournament upside.

Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints
FanDuel Price: $8,800

Now the WR2 on the season, Michael Thomas absolutely deserves to be the most expensive receiver on the main slate. He's averaging an absurd 24.35 FanDuel points per game at home this season. The Eagles, meanwhile, allow the fifth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers and just lost top corner Ronald Darby for the season. It's a devastating injury to a secondary that's already beyond banged up. Thomas is already uncoverable and should wreak havoc wherever he lines up. He's playable in all formats with a mouthwatering ceiling, albeit with high ownership.

Others to Consider

By now, we pretty much know the deal with the Saints. Always try to fit Alvin Kamara ($8,900) into your lineup, play Drew Brees ($8,500) at home if you can afford to pay up, and that's about it.

While I wrote Mark Ingram ($7,100) in as a good contrarian play last week at low ownership, his price has increased by $300, the matchup is considerably tougher on the ground, and his ownership will be much higher coming off a monster game. Everyone else on the Saints side is a low probability dart throw, though it will be worth monitoring any snaps and usage for new addition Brandon Marshall (not listed).

Alshon Jeffery ($7,300) has followed up his hot start with consecutive floor games in tough matchups. He's likely to see the most of Marshon Lattimore, but the overall volume and projected scoring output of this game keeps him in play. Consider him in the contrarian GPP bucket.

Golden Tate ($6,500) ran just 15 routes in his Eagles debut. While that number should go up and the matchup is great in the slot, his floor is too low for consideration. Nelson Agholor ($5,300) popped for one of his best games of the season but remains just a low-floor dart throw in a high-total game.

Finally back on the main slate, this year's TE1, Zach Ertz ($7,600), is always in play. While his price may seem exorbitant on the surface, it's more than reasonable when you break down his relative cost. Not only is Ertz far and away the TE1 this year, but his per-game scoring average would make him the WR9. And that's exactly where he's priced. In a tough matchup, Ertz is still worth betting on if you're not looking to pay down at tight end.

It's tough to get excited about a three-way committee backfield, especially against a top-five run defense. Josh Adams ($4,500) is cheap and should again lead the team in carries, but this isn't a matchup nor a game script to target.
