After touching on the Jags' backfield, their opponent, the Colts, are preparing to not have their primary ball carrier in the same game. Marlon Mack is currently in the concussion protocol and has not practiced in the early portion of the week. This opens the door for another two-headed backfield to split running back duties.

Mack has missed four games in 2018, which required the Colts to lean on rookies Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines. Wilkins took the first crack at handling the load in the first game that Mack missed, but the workload shifted toward Hines as the season went on. And Wilkins didn't top eight touches after the first game.

Hines, on the other hand, had steady involvement in the offense. His snaps and touches increased each game at the expense of Wilkins. Hines had a very high target floor in those games, posting totals of 9, 5, 11, and 9. He also had a game in which the Colts gave him 22 touches, showing that the team isn't afraid to feed Hines despite his smallish frame.

While some of those games came with starters like T.Y. Hilton and Jack Doyle being out, the situation isn’t all that much different as the Colts find themselves thin in the receiving group. With no Mack or Doyle expected this week -- and no prominent receiver outside of Hilton -- Hines should find plenty of targets in an Andrew Luck-led offense.
