Running Back

Chalk

If you're looking to spend down at the low tier of running backs, there's a bevvy of options under $6,000 that seem super explosive.

Starting with Jeff Wilson of the San Francisco 49ers ($5,600), who takes over the starting job with Matt Breida out this week, he should be in line for a heavy dose of work. In a relief role after Breida's ankle flared up, Wilson racked up 137 all-purpose yards.

The Baltimore Ravens are expecting Gus Edwards to play in Week 14, but it's important to note that he left early last week with an ankle injury. With Alex Collins on Injured Reserve, Kenneth Dixon ($5,300) stepped in and grabbed nine touches. Against a porous Kansas City Chiefs defense, one that ranks last against the run and was rinsed by Phillip Lindsay for two scores a week ago, Dixon becomes a viable choice.

Finally, Jaylen Samuels ($4,600) is sure to be highly-owned in DFS for Week 14. With James Conner ruled out this week, Samuels could be in a time share with Stevan Ridley but could still be a steal at a low price point.

Pivot

Justin Jackson, Los Angeles Chargers: $4,500 (vs Cincinnati Bengals)

Given the uncertainty around lead back Melvin Gordon, who missed a Week 13 contest with a knee injury, grabbing some ownership against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that ranks fourth-worst against the run seems like a viable DFS option.

A quick scan at last week's box score reveals that Austin Ekeler out-touched Justin Jackson by a margin of 18 to 9. But at least last week, Jackson was the far more effective back; in leading the team to a comeback win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jackson toted the rock eight times for 63 yards and a score.

Even if Jackson, only sees passing game work, the Bengals have been roasted by opposing running backs:

We have Jackson profiled for 6.8 FanDuel points, but a possible tournament upside of 13.0 FanDuel points, which he topped in last week's effort. If Gordon is out and Ekeler continues to struggle (13 carries for 21 yards a week ago), Jackson makes for a great low cost option.
