While the New York Giants are not playing for anything, Saquon Barkley absolutely is. He's in the running for Offensive Rookie of the Year and will need a phenomenal showing in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys in order to win this award. Also in the running is Baker Mayfield, who has been superb in his rookie season, and his fire has brought a winning attitude to a losing franchise. Barkley is fighting an uphill battle at this point in the season.

However, one thing he has going for him is that the Cowboys are already locked into the fourth seed in the playoffs, meaning they will host someone in the first round of the playoffs. Two years ago, they were in a similar situation, and we saw a plethora of starters not touch the field or just play a series or two. This means that Barkley should likely get his normal workload against the backups of Dallas.

While Dallas has had a very good defense this season, you can't replace talent and desire to play with backups, who could be trying to protect themselves for the playoffs, and expect a stout defense. I suspect that Saquon will be featured heavily as the Giants organization will want to showcase their second overall pick and try to save face for selecting a running back so early in the first round over a quarterback.
