Week 13 NFL FanDuel Salary Movers

Gus Edwards took control of the Baltimore backfield and could still be a value at his price. Who joined him in moving up the salary scale this week?

Things can change quickly in fantasy football. To quote Ferris Bueller, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

We're here to "look around" and make sure we don't miss any week-to-week salary changes that could pay dividends on FanDuel.

Maybe a player had an outlier performance and saw their salary rise too high, making them a sub-optimal play. Perhaps a player saw an increase in their role but played on Monday night after salaries for the following week's slate already came out, and therefore they haven't been priced accordingly.

This week's article will take a look at which players salaries have changed the most from Week 12 to Week 13 and dig into why those moves happened.

Now that you're ready, let's get to it!

Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills

Week 12 Salary: $6,300
Week 13 Salary: $6,800

After missing six weeks with an elbow injury, Josh Allen returned as the Bills starter last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He completed just 8 of his 19 passes for 160 yards but one was a 75-yard touchdown to fellow rookie Robert Foster. Allen also scored on the ground, adding 99 yards rushing on 13 carries as the Bills won at home 24-21. Despite his low passing numbers, Allen's rushing boosted his overall scoring to 26.3 FanDuel points, his second game of 25 or more in seven starts.

This week, Allen and the Bills travel to Miami and face a Dolphins team with the 25th-ranked passing defense; their Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play of 0.20 is sixth-worst in the league. The matchup is good, but you have better options in the same salary range, so you can go elsewhere in stead of hoping for a big passing game from the NFL's worst schedule-adjusted passing offense.

Other Big Movers:

Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers: $8,600 | $8,300
Tom Brady, New England Patriots: $8,200 | $7,900
Jeff Driskel, Cincinnati Bengals: $6,000 | $6,400

Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Week 12 Salary: $5,300
Week 13 Salary: $6,400

The un-drafted rookie seems to have taken over the Ravens' backfield the last two weeks with Lamar Jackson at quarterback. Gus Edwards rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries against the Cincinnati Bengals for 19.5 FanDuel points in Week 11. With Alex Collins officially ruled out in Week 12, Edwards was once again the main back, handling 23 rushing attempts for 118 yards and 11.8 FanDuel points. The $1,100 salary increase makes Edwards the biggest mover of the week at any position.

NOw, he sat out practice on Wednesday, but it appears that was just a precaution, as he practiced fully on Thursday. Collins also returned to practice, which could turn this into another ugly running back committee if the workload is split. That's disappointing because the Ravens face the Falcons, who give up the fourth-most points to running backs on the season. Their inability to cover backs in the passing game has been exploited all year, as opposing running backs have combined for league-leading 88 receptions. That's the one area of concern for Edwards if he retains the primary role; he has just one reception.

At $6,400, Edwards -- if he's able to see 15-plus touches -- is still a nice value despite the price hike.

Other Big Movers:

Todd Gurley, Los Angeles Rams: $10,600 | $9,800
Kenyan Drake, Miami Dolphins: $5,500 | $6,200
LeGarrette Blount, Detroit Lions: $4,600 | $5,600

Josh Reynolds, WR, Los Angeles Rams

Week 11 Salary: $5,000
Week 13 Salary: $5,800

Cooper Kupp missed Week 7 and 8 with a knee injury, leaving a large void of targets in the Los Angeles Rams' wide receiver group. Josh Reynolds was the next man up and played 83 percent of the snaps against the San Francisco 49ers. A cheap DFS play, Reynolds didn't pan out, catching his lone target for 19 yards. In Week 8, Reynolds bounced back with 17.5 FanDuel points against the Packers, thanks to two touchdowns. But then Kupp suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Week 10, leaving Reynolds as the main beneficiary for the remainder of the year.

Reynolds didn't disappoint in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs, securing 6 of 8 targets for 80 yards and a touchdown for 17 FanDuel points. His salary increase of $800 is warranted given the role alone, but he now gets an excellent matchup with the Detroit Lions, who rank 32nd in total defense; only the Raiders have a worse Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play. The Rams have the second-highest implied team total of the week, at 32.25, and Reynolds should be a popular value option once again.

Other Big Movers:

D.J. Moore, Carolina Panthers: $5,800 | $6,400
Antonio Callaway, Cleveland Browns: $4,800 | $5,500
Dante Pettis, San Francisco 49ers: $4,600 | $5,300

George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers

Week 12 Salary: $7,500
Week 13 Salary: $6,800

While the focus has been on salary increases so far, George Kittle breaks the trend with a drop in salary this week, as he's down $700. In a prime spot against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the 49ers were without Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin. Kittle saw a season-high 13 targets in their absence but caught only 6 for 48 yards. As the second-most expensive tight end on the slate, behind Zach Ertz, 8.8 FanDuel points was a big disappointment.

Kittle is once again the second-most expensive option this week but $1,000 less than Travis Kelce. Goodwin should play after dealing with a family matter, which will hopefully open up the middle of the field for Kittle. It's still a lot to pay when we have really cheap options like Brate and LaCosse to help us fill out our lineups, and the 49ers' 18-point implied team total is the third-lowest on the slate.

Other Big Movers:

Trey Burton, Chicago Bears: $6,400 | $5,80
Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: $4,400 | $4,900
Matt LaCosse, Denver Broncos: $4,100 | $4,700
