3 NFL Prop Bets to Target for Week 3

FanDuel SportsBook provides a variety of lines, player props, and parlays, allowing people to showcase their knowledge.

Player props closely mirror the game of fantasy football, giving you a chance to stay involved in a familiar way. With Week 2 already under way, here are a few standout prop bets for Sunday's action in Week 3.

Baker Mayfield Over 262.5 Passing Yards (-112)

Coming off a solid with over the New York Jets, Baker Mayfield finds himself at home facing the Los Angeles Rams. While Mayfield has struggled to open the year with two touchdowns and four interceptions, this game environment points to a bounce-back performance. At the moment, the Browns stand as 3.5-point home underdogs against LA with the game holding a 47.5-point game total.

Looking at our projections, Mayfield is forecasted to throw for 284.08 passing yards. This gives Mayfield over 20 passing yards of value on his player prop, per our models.

Unfortunately for Mayfield, the Rams ranks sixth in overall pass defense, according to our schedule-adjusted metrics. However, they certainly benefited from facing a New Orleans Saints that was Drew Brees-less for most of the game and a Carolina Panthers squad with a slumping Cam Newton.

Last year, Mayfield excelled as a passer, notching 3,725 passing yards and 27 scores. In what projects as a high-scoring affair, Mayfield looks like a solid bounce-back candidate. Right now a $100 bet on Mayfield's passing over returns $89.

Austin Ekeler Over 62.5 Rushing Yards (-108)

Impressing in Melvin Gordon's absence, Austin Ekeler looks poised for another big game on Sunday. At this moment, his rushing prop comes in at 62.5 rushing yards, creating a solid buying opportunity against a struggling Houston Texans defense.

Through two games, Ekeler has carry counts of 12 and 17 as the Los Angeles Chargers continue to feed him more work. Right now, the Chargers sit as 3.5-point home favorites, suggesting a run-friendly environment.

In addition, our projections slate Ekeler for 72.49 rushing yards on Sunday. This creates almost 10 full rushing yards of value on his player prop in this matchup. Importantly, the Texans allow the highest yards-per-carry mark to opposing running backs (6.0) through two games this season. According to our schedule-adjusted metrics, the Texans sit third-worst in run defense.

Right now, a $100 bet on Ekeler eclipsing 62.5 rushing yards nets $92.59.

Christian Kirk Over 59.5 Receiving Yards (+108)

With Kliff Kingsbury's offense firing on all cylinders for the Arizona Cardinals, Christian Kirk enters Week 3 with surprisingly favorable odds at his receiving prop of 59.5. Right now, our models peg Kirk for 73.07 receiving yards -- making this a clear bet to zero in on.

On the year, Kirk has 20 targets in an Arizona offense that is running the second-fastest scheme in all of football. Carolina's pass defense ranks about middle of the road, according to our metrics. However, they've yet to face a passing attack like the Cardinals'. Just last week, Kyler Murray rang up over 350 passing yards on the road against the Baltimore Ravens.

With Kirk receiving some of the best odds on the slate, a $100 wage on him besting 59.5 receiving yards totals $108.
