Melvin Gordon (knee) reportedly trending toward sitting for Chargers again
Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon (knee) will have a "challenging" time playing versus the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Chargers will wait until after pregame warm-ups to make a final decision, but they promoted Troymaine Pope from the practice squad, so it sounds like Gordon will miss a third straight game. Austin Ekeler (neck, concussion) has already been ruled out, so Justin Jackson should see all the work he can handle in a plus matchup.
Gordon was averaging 23.0 FanDuel points per game before the injury, with 153 carries for 802 yards and 9 touchdowns and 44 receptions (60 targets) for 453 yards and 4 touchdowns.
