Rams add C.J. Anderson to backfield as Week 16 insurance
The Los Angeles Rams signed running back C.J. Anderson.
Todd Gurley is day-to-day with a knee injury, so Anderson could wind up as the Rams' lead back in Week 16 versus the Arizona Cardinals. John Kelly and Justin Davis also figure to be involved if Gurley sits. Anderson, 27, was cut by the Carolina Panthers on November 18 and then spent a week with the Oakland Raiders before being waived last Tuesday.
Anderson rushed 24 times for 104 yards and caught a 24-yard touchdown pass in nine games for the Carolina Panthers this season before being released in November.
