Broncos' Phillip Lindsay (wrist) facing 'lengthy recovery'

Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay (wrist) has a "possible scaphoid fracture, along with ligament damage" and faces a "lengthy recovery," reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

What It Means:

Rapoport adds that this isn't Lindsay's final diagnosis, but the injury will keep him out of the Broncos' season finale, as well as the undrafted rookie's first Pro Bowl appearance. Royce Freeman will likely take over as Denver's lead back in Week 17 versus the Los Angeles Chargers.

Lindsay averaged 13.7 FanDuel points in 15 games this season. He rushed for 1,037 yards and 9 touchdowns on 192 attempts and caught 35 passes for 241 yards and another touchdown on 47 targets.
