Broncos choose Vic Fangio to be new head coach
The Denver Broncos agreed to terms with Vic Fangio as head coach, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Fangio gets his first head-coaching opportunity at the age of 60 after spending the past eight seasons as defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears. The Broncos also considered Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak for the job.
The Bears' defense led the league with 36 forced turnovers this season and ranked 1st in DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average), finishing 1st against the pass and 2nd against the run.
