Browns sign Kareem Hunt to 1-year contract, suspension still pending
The Cleveland Browns signed running back Kareem Hunt, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs, to a 1-year contract.
Hunt will remain on the commissioner's exempt list until his inevitable suspension is handed down from the league's office. Browns general manager John Dorsey drafted Hunt in Kansas City, so it's not a big surprise to see the two reconnect in Cleveland. Nick Chubb is expected to open the 2019 season as the Browns' workhorse back, but Hunt will likely work his way into the mix once eligible. He turns 24 in August.
Hunt rushed 181 times for 824 yards and 7 touchdowns and had 26 receptions (35 targets) for 378 yards and another 7 touchdowns over 11 games for the Chiefs in 2018.
