Patriots reportedly interested in Golden Tate

The New England Patriots are interested in free agent wide receiver Golden Tate, according to the NFL Network.

What It Means:

Tate previously said he would "love to" sign with the Patriots. Maurice Harris and Bruce Ellington were brought in for workouts, but Tate is a superior option. He turns 31 in August and there haven't been reports of any other teams expressing interest.

Tate caught 74 passes on 113 targets for 795 yards (10.7 yards per catch) and 4 touchdowns in 15 games for the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles last season.
