Chiefs say they will use a running back committee in 2019
When asked by Sirus XM NFL Radio about using a Running back by committee in 2019, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid replied, "We'll do that here."
Reid pointed out that he had done it previously with the Philadelphia Eagles and had some success with it. He named the committee as Damien Williams, Carlos Hyde, Darwin Thompson, and Darrel Williams, noting they all have their strengths that Chiefs would like to exploit. While this could all be coach speak, it is clear that Reid is a bit concerned about the durability of Damien Williams, after Williams was sidelined for most of camp with a hamstring injury
Our models currently have Damien Williams pegged as the RB13 with 1,355.7 total yards and 12.1 touchdowns on 252.8 touches in 2019.
