Cam Newton (foot) expected back Monday for Panthers
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (foot) is expected to return to practice on Monday, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.
Newton is dealing with a mid-foot sprain he suffered during Thursday's preseason game, but the Panthers remain "cautiously optimistic" he will be ready for Week 1. The former league MVP will likely be limited on Monday if he's able to practice.
numberFire's models project Newton for 3,857.8 passing yards with 24.13 touchdowns and 12.2 interceptions this season, as well as 555.0 yards and 5.71 touchdowns on the ground. He's the QB4 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
