Tight end will be focal point of Rams' passing game

The Los Angeles Rams plan to run a "tight-end-centric passing game," reports Steve Wyche of NFL Network.

What It Means:

New head coach Sean McVay targeted a tight end on 26 percent (seventh-highest in the NFL) of the attempts while running Washington's offense last season. That should mean plenty of opportunity for 2016 fourth-rounder Tyler Higbee and 2017 second-round pick Gerald Everett. There isn't too much talent elsewhere on the Rams' roster competing for targets.

Among the 46 tight ends to see at least 25 targets last season, Higbee finished last in Reception Net Expected Points per target. His 37.9 percent catch rate (11-of-29 targets) was also the only mark below 50.0 percent in that group.
