Titans sign Brandon Weeden as backup in case Marcus Mariota can't play
The Tennessee Titans signed quarterback Brandon Weeden to a one-year contract.
So much for Marcus Mariota being day-to-day. The signing of Weeden might be more of an indicator of Mariota's health than anything, and if he can't play, the Titans will need Weeden to backup Matt Cassel. It's not a great situation for the Titans, but check back later in the week for another update on Mariota's health.
Weeden last played in the NFL in 2015 for the Cowboys and Texans. He appeared in 6 games that year, throwing for 1043 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions on 97-for-140 passing.
