49ers place Navorro Bowman on trade block
The San Francisco 49ers are shopping linebacker Navorro Bowman, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Bowman expressed displeasure about seeing reduced playing time in last week's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and it appears his tenure with the 49ers organization may be coming to a close. He's spent every year in San Francisco since being taken in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft, but first-round rookie Reuben Foster is ready to take over. Per Schefter, multiple teams have expressed interest in Bowman, who would need to be dealt prior to the October 31 trade deadline.
Over the remainder of the season, numberFire's models project Bowman to record 95.0 tackles, 1.2 sacks, 2.7 deflected passes, 0.7 interceptions, 1.0 forced fumbles, 0.7 fumbles recovered, and 0.08 defensive touchdowns. Entering a Week 6 matchup with the Washington Redskins, the 49ers currently rank 25th in schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points allowed per play.
