Drew Stanton will remain under center for Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said the team will "stick with" quarterback Drew Stanton as the starter.
"We're going to stick with Drew," Arians said when asked if he'd consider Blaine Gabbert following Sunday's loss of Carson Palmer to a broken arm for at least eight weeks. Stanton went 5-for-14 for 62 yards in more than a half of scoreless football for the Cardinals after Palmer left versus the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Gabbert get a shot eventually.
Stanton finished with -9.51 Passing Net Expected Points in Week 7, meaning a league average quarterback would have finished with 9.51 more points than Stanton did if put in similar situations.
