Browns release Kenny Britt after 9 games
The Cleveland Browns have released wide receiver Kenny Britt after playing just nine games with the team in 2017.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Britt will go unclaimed on waivers and will be eligible to sign with any team as a free agent. The chances of him getting picked up can't be any better than 50-50 after Britt's behavior in his time with Cleveland. Luckily, only the first year of Britt's four-year deal was guaranteed, so the Browns will only owe him the remainder of his $10.5 million this season. Going forward, Josh Gordon, Corey Coleman and Ricardo Louis will serve as Cleveland's top targets in the passing game.
Over 9 games and 4 starts, Britt tallied just 18 catches, 233 yards and 2 touchdowns on 38 total targets this season.
