Trey Burton

Eagles' Trey Burton should earn big free agent contract in 2018

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Trey Burton should land a "significant deal" this offseason, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo expects.

What It Means:

Burton was tendered at the second-round level as a restricted free agent last offseason, as the Eagles fully understand his potential value. Burton has flashed when given a starting role, scoring three touchdowns in the two games starter Zach Ertz has missed. With the tight end market shallow, it would be surprising if Burton – who's in a contract year – didn't get starter-level money and a chance to play significant snaps somewhere.

Burton's 0.95 Reception Net Expected Points per target on 27 targets is the second-best rate among the 43 tight ends with at least 25 targets on the season, behind only Rob Gronkowski.
