Sammy Watkins expected to receive franchise tag from Rams
Los Angeles impending free agent wide receiver Sammy Watkins is expected to receive the franchise tag, according to ESPN Rams reporter Alden Gonzalez.
After being acquired from the Buffalo Bills in late August, Watkins managed to stay healthy with the Rams this season and played more than 13 games for the first time since his rookie campaign in 2014. He'll likely work as Jared Goff's third receiver next season behind Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp.
Watkins averaged 8.1 FanDuel points per game this season, with 39 catches (70 targets) for 593 yards and 8 touchdowns.
