Rex Burkhead (knee) expected to play for Patriots in AFC Championship Game
New England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead (knee) is expected to play in the AFC Championship Game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Burkhead, out since Week 15, returned to practice last week and was close to getting the green light versus the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional Round, so he should be ready to roll for Sunday's showdown with the Jaguars. Barring any setbacks, Burkhead will likely work as the Patriots' second back behind Dion Lewis while siphoning snaps and touches from James White.
Burkhead averaged 11.5 FanDuel points in 10 games this season, with 264 rushing yards and 254 receiving yards while totaling 8 offensive touchdowns.
