Saints' Drew Brees has no plans to test free agent market
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees said that he has no plans to test free agency, and that his hope is to re-sign with the team prior to the new league year.
Brees said, "It's the same way I felt two days ago. It's the same way I felt 12 years ago. That is that I'll be here as long as they'll have me, hopefully." To his credit, the 39-year-old has been committed to the team and could play another two or three years at a high level. He can't be franchise tagged, which could get him some nice guaranteed money for his age. Brees made $19 million in 2017.
In leading the Saints to the Divisional Round of this year's playoffs, Brees threw for 4,334 yards and 23 touchdowns while completing 72% of his pass attempts.
