Report: 'No chance' Buccaneers retain Doug Martin
According to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud, there is "'no chance" the Tampa Bay Buccaneers keep running back Doug Martin in 2018.
Martin has three years and $20.75 million left on his contract, but his drug-related suspension wiped out the guarantees in his contract. The team opted to hold on to him and hope for a breakthrough season in 2017, but his release this season will save the Bucs $6.75 million in cap space for 2018. Jacquizz Rodgers is set to be the only running back under contract in Tampa Bay.
In 11 games and 8 starts, Martin rushed for 406 yards and 3 touchdowns on 138 attempts this season.
