Giants' Pat Shurmer: Eli Manning has 'years left'
New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur said quarterback Eli Manning has "years left" to play, according to NJ.com's Dan Duggan.
Shurmer added that he's looking forward to working with Manning. The new head coach appears to be on the same page as general manager Dave Gettleman, who plans to retain the veteran despite souring sentiment in New York. The Giants could still go for a young quarterback in the draft, but it sounds like we could be seeing Manning start for a couple more years.
Since 2015, Manning's Net Expected Points have dropped from 92.33 to -19.45 in 2017. He's due to make $22.2 and $23.2 million over the final 2 years of his contract.
