Jaguars' Blake Bortles underwent wrist surgery on Friday

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles underwent wrist surgery on Friday, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

What It Means:

Bortles was listed virtually every week on the injury report with an injury in his right wrist. The quarterback reportedly has had to deal with the condition since December of 2016 and finally has decided to take care of the problem. Bortles is expected to be fully healed by the start of training camp. The quarterback is scheduled to earn over $19M, fully guaranteed, if he is on the Jags' roster March 14.

Bortles threw for 3,687 yards with 21 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2017. He posted 0.11 net expected points per pass attempt, ranking 11th out of the 20 quarterbacks who attempted at least 500 passes.
