Frank Gore will not be re-signed by the Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have confirmed they will not re-sign impending free agent running back Frank Gore.

What It Means:

General Manager Chris Ballard stated the obvious when saying the team was committed to a youth movement and that the 35-year-old Gore did not fit into their plans for the future. The team is rumored to be interested in drafting Penn State running back Saquon Barkley with the third overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Second-year back Marlon Mack is on the roster as well.

Gore posted a career-low 3.7 yards per carry in 2017 as he rushed 261 times for 961 yards and 3 touchdowns while adding 29 catches for 245 yards and 1 score.
