Trey Burton

Trey Burton expected to be heavily involved in Bears' offense

Chicago Bears new tight end Trey Burton will play the Travis Kelce role on offense, new head coach Matt Nagy confirmed.

What It Means:

The "U" role is a tight end/receiver hybrid spot that Kelce played while Nagy was the offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs. “It’s an important role,” Nagy said. “It’s easy to create some plays for. And when you have a guy that has the size that Trey has and the speed that he has, it’s about mismatches.” Burton, 26, signed a 4-year, $32 million contract with the Bears earlier this month and will be a popular breakout candidate in 2018 after playing a limited role with the Philadelphia Eagles during the first four years of his career.

Burton averaged 4.9 FanDuel points per game last season, with 23 catches (31 targets) for 248 yards and 5 touchdowns.
