Ben Watson reportedly returning to Saints on 1-year deal

The New Orleans Saints signed tight end Ben Watson, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens, to a 1-year contract, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.

What It Means:

Watson was with the Saints from 2013-2015 and had the best year of his career in 2015, with 74 catches (110 targets) for 825 yards and 6 touchdowns. He missed 2016 due to a torn Achilles' but managed to bounce back with a solid campaign for the Ravens last year. Even at 37, Watson could wind up opening 2018 as the starting tight end in New Orleans. His current competition consists of Josh Hill, Michael Hoomanawanui, and Coby Fleener.

Watson averaged 6.7 FanDuel points per game, with 61 receptions (79 targets) for 522 yards and 4 touchdowns.
