Cowboys acquire receiver Tavon Austin from Rams
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Dallas Cowboys have acquired wide receiver Tavon Austin in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams.
The Cowboys gave up a sixth-round pick in exchange for the speedy wideout. However, the Cowboys view Austin as a pass-catching running back rather than your average receiver. The trade allowed Dallas to clear $1 million in cap, and Austin will now get $5 million in guarantees with the chance to earn $3 million more in incentives.
In 2017, Austin turned just 22 targets into 13 catches, 47 yards and 0 receiving touchdowns. He has had no more than 509 yards in any of his first 5 NFL seasons.
