Cowboys' Jason Witten retiring, joining ESPN's MNF

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten will retire after 15 NFL seasons.

What It Means:

It's been a back-and-forth discussion of late, but it appears that the Cowboys couldn't convince the veteran to return for one more year. Instead, Witten will go on to join ESPN's Monday Night Football crew. Dallas will be left with Geoff Swaim, Rico Gathers and rookie Dalton Schultz at tight end.

Witten's 1,152 receptions rank fourth in NFL history and second among all tight ends to ever play the game. He's a surefire Hall of Famer with 11 Pro Bowls and 2 All-Pro designations to his name.
