Jay Ajayi ready to be Eagles' workhorse back in 2018
Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi said he considers himself a "workhorse running back".
In speaking to the media, Ajayi said, "Obviously, things have gotten a little shaken up in our room. I’m excited to get into that lead role." Last year, Ajayi joined the Eagles via trade, but he was part of a timeshare with two to three other backs. This year, with LeGarrette Blount elsewhere, he is poised to take on a bigger role. However, he'll still have to deal with the presence of Corey Clement and Darren Sproles.
Over 10 combined regular season and playoff games with the Eagles, Ajayi turned 112 rushes into 592 yards and a score in 2017.
