David Johnson 'encouraged' by contract talks with Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals contract-year running back David Johnson said he is "encouraged" by ongoing negotiations.
"I was hoping my production from my second year and what I did my first year would help out," Johnson said, "but the NFL is what have you done for me lately, so hopefully I can prove it once the season starts." It sounds like Johnson is more eager to prove his worth than he is encouraged by discussions, but either way, the fourth-year back is healthy and ready to make up for a lost 2017 campaign.
numberFire's models project Johnson for 1,855.0 total yards and 13.19 touchdowns on 361.0 touches (79.7 receptions) in 2018. He's the 3rd-overall running back in our preseason fantasy rankings.
