Patriots' Rex Burkhead reportedly managing 'slight tear' in knee
New England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead is dealing with a "slight tear" in his knee, reports The Athletic's Jeff Howe.
It's a "minor injury" and something Burkhead is able to play through, per Howe. The Patriots are likely just erring on the extreme side of caution with a key cog in their offense. Burkhead also dealt with a knee issue last season.
numberFire's models currently project Burkhead to rush 103.3 times for 527.6 yards and 6.02 touchdowns, as well as catch 43.6 passes for 364.5 yards and 2.99 touchdowns. He's the RB23 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
