C.J. Anderson competing solely for Panthers' backup role
Carolina Panthers running back C.J. Anderson rushed twice for 15 yards and caught his only target for three yards in the team's third preseason game.
Anderson is competing solely for second-back duties with Cameron Artis-Payne, but Artis-Payne tallied 28 yards on eight touches Friday night. Neither is any competition to Christian McCaffrey for first-team snaps.
Prior to this news, our models projected Anderson for 568 rushing yards and 3.0 touchdowns on 137 attempts, adding 12 catches for 98 yards and 0.6 scores. He's our 44th-best running back for fantasy purposes.
