San Francisco fears Jerick McKinnon tore his ACL
The San Francisco 49ers fear running back Jerick McKinnon suffered a torn ACL in Saturday's practice, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
McKinnon suffered the injury on the last play of practice. He made a cut and fell immediately to the ground, without being touched. The back is going out for an MRI, but it sounds like McKinnon is done for the season. Alfred Morris is expected to open the season as the starter with Matt Breida backing him and working as a pass catching back.
McKinnon has been drafted in the third round of most fantasy drafts this year as a top-20 back.
