MRI confirms Niners' Jerick McKinnon has a torn ACL, done for the year
An MRI has confirmed that San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon tore his ACL on Saturday, ending his 2018 season, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Netwrok.
McKinnon was the Niners' prize free agent this offseason as they signed him to a four-year, $30M deal. With him out of action, Alfred Morris is expected to take over as the primary running back with Matt Breida filling in on passing downs and as a change of pace. San Francisco may also look to add a back to their roster.
McKinnon rushed for 570 yards and 3 touchdowns while catching 51 passes for 421 yards and 2 touchdowns with the Minnesota Vikings in 2017.
