NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Thursday 4/25/19

As Round 2 gets underway, Boston's top line is worth a look against Columbus. Who else can you trust on tonight's DFS slate?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

And our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Ben Bishop ($8,100): Bishop will be in net Thursday night against the St. Louis Blues. His Dallas Stars will continue their act on the road after a thrilling overtime win to eliminate the Nashville Predators. Bishop stopped 47 of 48 shots in that Game 6 victory and stopped 30+ shots in two other wins. That gives the Dallas goalie a three-game streak heading into St. Louis with the expectation of seeing at least 30-35 shots yet again. The problem with Jordan Binnington is he likely will not see as many shots. As for Boston and Columbus, it could turn into a grind-it-out affair, so we'll wait and see on the goaltending opportunity there.

High-Priced Skaters

Tyler Seguin ($8,400): Seguin found ways to get open in the last two games of the Nashville series. The result was five straight double-digit outings on FanDuel after a Game 1 stinker. Seguin reunited with Alexander Radulov and Jamie Benn in Game 5, and Coach Montgomery has kept them together since. The result has been an inordinate amount of scoring chances from all angles. When a player gets 20+ FanDuel points in three of his last four contests and is firing 7,8, and 11 shots in a game, one has to take notice. Seguin can be stacked or stand as a one-off on Thursday night. Patrice Bergeron ($7.800) is a viable option from Boston as a potential stacking play on the Boston top line.

Brad Marchand ($8,500): Against Columbus, Boston's top line has been otherworldly over the past couple seasons. In three meetings this season, Marchand has seven points, including 4 goals on 14 shots. The winger has 64 points in 44 games at home. Even though the Bruins are on virtually no rest, Columbus has not played in a week. Most would argue the rust is worse in this scenario. When a player is averaging four to five scoring chances a night against a particular team, they are tough to fade even in an opening game like this. Artemi Panarin ($7,700) is an intriguing option but has risk due to his inconsistent shot volume.

Value Skaters

Sean Kuraly ($3,400): This is still a high-risk choice, however, Kuraly can produce scoring chances, and given his bottom-six ice time, gets on shots at an elevated rate per 60 minutes. Typically, he plays 12-13 minutes night and can still average three shots on net a contest. At least two of those three shots are good scoring opportunities. Kuraly going against the Columbus depth could be a secret weapon in this series simply because that is a weakness of the Jackets. Also, most may be so keyed on the top Boston line that they forget about other plays along the way. In the same vein, Blake Comeau ($3,500) is not a bad idea against the Blues' depth on Thursday.

David Savard ($3,800): Savard is a good floor option on Thursday night against Boston. He should block quite a few shots and even hit the net a couple times as well. The 14 blocks in his last three contests are very intriguing and only pad the possibilities. His low price and six real-world points in the last six contests do not hurt either. Against Dallas, Vince Dunn ($3,700) is a decent power-play choice for St. Louis on Thursday night.
