Francois Beauchemin

Francois Beauchemin, Alex Tanguay have a hand in both Colorado goals

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Francois Beauchemin scored the winner and added an assist in Colorado's 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Alex Tanguay also scored an added an assist in the come-from-behind win. Beauchemin's point shot with 19:28 remaining somehow found a way past Sabres' goalie Robin Lehner and propelled the Avalanche to victory. It was his first goal since December 17. The points also snapped a six-game pointless streak for the 35 year-old.

We project Beauchemin to record four more goals and 11 more assists this season. Both his 44.3 Corsi For Percentage and his -3.1 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength are well below his career averages. For Tanguay, he has three goals and 15 helpers in 37 games. We project him to tally five more goals with 13 more assists over the final 32 games. Tanguay's -0.1 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength is his best mark since 2009-'10 while his 46.1 Corsi For Percentage is lower than his career average.
