San Jose will have Matthew Nieto for the playoffs

San Jose Sharks forward Matt Nieto has recovered from a broken knuckle and will be in the lineup when the Sharks meet the Los Angeles Kings for Game 1 of their first-round playoff series on Thursday.

What It Means:

Nieto missed the Sharks' final 12 regular-season games, but he practiced Monday and will return to face the Kings. Nieto, one of San Jose's fastest skaters, was on the third line with center Patrick Marleau and Melker Karlsson in Monday's practice. "I feel great, 100 percent," Nieto said. "I'm ready to go. Everything's fine. Shooting the puck, fine. There's not a situation that I'm iffy about right now. I wouldn't come back if I weren't 100 percent. I'm feeling really good."

Nieto had eight goals and nine assists in 67 games played this season. The 23-year-old posted a 49.7 Corsi For Percentage and -4.4 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength, both of which were career lows.
